Tajima Bark Glass Vase c1970s

$115.00
SOLD

Tajima Glass is a renowned Japanese glass manufacturer founded in 1956.  They established themselves using traditional Japanese glassmaking techniques, making sake cups and rock glasses. In the 1960s and 1970s they flourished to become one of Japan's most recognised manufacturers of mid-century glass. They produced incredible coloured glass pieces which were sought and collected by the Western market hungry for affordable quality and outstanding style.

Tajima Glass continues to innovate while preserving traditional techniques, making their products highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike.

This tall orange and clear bark vase is evocative of the 1970s; the bark-like texture design references the era’s calling towards nature and organic form, while the bold colour speaks to the colourful aesthetic we’ve come to love from the vibrant 60s and 70s. The vase is tall, with an irregular cylindrical shape, and the bold orange colour fades vertically to produce a striking effect.

This amazing vase is in excellent vintage condition with partial label intact. Please carefully note the dimensions as it can often be difficult to determine accurate sizes from the photos.
