Norman Stuart Clarke, Signed art glass vase with iridescent finish

$250.00
SOLD

Norman Stuart Clarke is one of Britain's leading artist glassblowers, influenced by the beauty of Cornwall, its rushing waves, sunlight through the trees and the silent presence of standing stones. Norman's painterly approach to glass also explores the inner realms of dreams, illusions and realities. His work is exhibited worldwide and is included in many public and private collections.

Clarke’s beautiful surface effects are reminiscent of Tiffany. His work is avidly collected by glass aficionados around the globe. His legacy is carried not only in his masterful work, but in his generosity of knowledge and practice.

This piece is a stunning work with iridescent bands of blue against red-ochre striations. The glass is clear in places as the intensity eases towards the base of the vase, creating an intriguing visual effect as the light plays through the glass. There are some surface marks attributed to the making process, and signs of light wear consistent with age and use. The vase is in excellent condition.
